Barcelona's Museu d'Art de Catalunya celebrates its 75th birthday with a special Guests of Honour exhibition. The 75 pieces of Catalan art, some on loan from the region's churches and cathedrals, date from the Middle Ages to the 20th century.
See ecclesiastical works, like the beautifully carved Beget
Majesty crucifix, on loan from the church of Sant Cristòfor in
Beget, and the Virgin of L'Escala retablo by Joan Antigo, usually
displayed at the altar of Sant Esteve church in Banyoles monastery.
The
exhibition also borrows works from galleries abroad, such as The
Farmer's Wife by Joan Miró (from Paris' Pompidou Centre) and The
Mediterranean sculpture by Aristides Maillol (from the Musée
d'Orsay).

El d'Art de Catalunya de Museu de Barcelona celebra su 75.o cumpleaños con las huéspedes especiales de la exposición del honor. Los 75 pedazos de arte catalán, algunos en préstamo de las iglesias de la región y las catedrales, fecha del centro envejecen al vigésimo siglo.
Vea los trabajos eclesiásticos, como tallado maravillosamente Beget el crucifix de la majestad, en préstamo de la iglesia de Sant Cristòfor adentro Beget, y la Virgen del retablo de L'Escala de Joan Antigo, exhibida generalmente en el altar de la iglesia de Sant Esteve en el monasterio de Banyoles.
La exposición también pide prestados trabajos de galerías al exterior, por ejemplo la esposa del granjero de Joan Miró (del centro de Pompidou de París) y la escultura mediterránea de Aristides Maillol (del Musée d'Orsay).
